A research tool should leave fingerprints
Many AI tools try to feel seamless. For research, I often want the opposite. I want to see the parser output, the selected evidence, the layout decision, the reviewer complaint, and the final repair.
That is the spirit behind PosterMELD. The goal is not just to make a poster from a paper. The goal is to make the transformation inspectable enough that a researcher can disagree with it and fix it.
When a tool leaves good fingerprints, it becomes easier to debug, easier to trust, and easier to improve.
